Our triumphant return to the Knit! After the fun we had with Fuzzy Fridays in December, we worked with Ellen Jacobs to try to get some regular stuff going over in Brooklyn. For this show, we switched from Friday afternoon to Saturday morning at 11. It meant I had to postpone my Music Together classes, which didn’t thrill my boss, but I can make it up to them in March.

But I think the morning slot worked, we had a pretty big crowd! Much larger than we’d had on Friday afternoons, for some reason. So, while I can’t skip too many classes, we’re going to try to book more of those, maybe on Sunday mornings or Saturday afternoons, trying to find the “sweet spot.” If Knitting Factory runs family shows on a regular basis, as they’ve threatened to do, then they’ll start to build up a regular Brooklyn audience in no time. Can’t wait!

This was our second trip to this very nice Barnes and Noble on the Upper East Side and I’m pleased to say it was just as much of a smash as the first. (Even better, actually, because we were able to sell the new CD!) Our old friend Anthony Methvin hooked us up once again, and he must be doing something right because there was a great crowd! He brings ‘em in every Sunday at noon for family events, and they keep coming back for more. It’s a thrill for us to be a part of it.

Our first gig of 2010 was a huge smash! We filled this wonderful theater space to capacity with a scaled-down version of the Family Beach Party. What better way to get people out to a show in January?

Dana’s crew of volunteers did an awesome job getting people in the door, and Justin’s wife Nancy worked her wonders at the merchandise table. Photographer Craig Dale was blasting away, under the guidance of our brand-new press person, the bombastic Ciara Pressler. Huge props also to our generous sponsors: Anthony David’s and Bin 14, two Hoboken eateries owned by our neighbor Anthony Pino.

Oh, and I think the band sounded pretty good, too!
