Are You Dave?

Just a week after her debut with the Lemons, Vanessa got to make the trek out to Brooklyn with us to play the Knit. I really enjoy those shows, it’s fun to play that big stage with all those lights. And we’ve really started to see the families coming out to enjoy the shows. At this particular gig, we met a lovely Scottish family who’ve invited us out to Edinburgh next year! It just goes to show, you should always put on your best possible performance, because you never know who you might meet in the crowd. Stay tuned for TFL’s UK Tour 2012!

Well, I think I tallied everything up correctly. If I count Fuzzy Lemons concerts and private shows (24), birthday parties (34), concerts with friends and by myself (8), and all of my Music Together classes (474), I get a total of 540 hours. Divide that by 365 days and it comes out to 1.48 hours, or about 89 minutes per day spent singing for kids. I’m down a minute from last year, mainly because I taught 13 classes per semester in the second half of the year, rather than 14. Darn this economic downturn!

Also, this number doesn’t include rehearsals, workshops, and the many fun hours we spent in the studio recording To The Moon.

Bottom line: I’m still averaging an hour and a half every day singing for kids, and I’m still super proud of that number.

Mu is one of those incredibly useful words that doesn’t exist in English. It’s the only good one-word answer to questions like “Do you still beat your wife?” Read more here.
